We also work with glass in the kiln to make bigger projects.  We hand-cut sheet glass, then melt it at very high temperature to completely "fuse" the glass to combine sheets, designs, and colors.  Once that is complete, we "slump" the single glass piece in a mold to give it a specific shape, such as a bowl, dish, etc.  This is called "kilnformed glass" and is truly functional art!
